Cottage Overview:

Rivendell is a four-season cottage with peaceful neighbours just two hours from Toronto. Perfect for ATVs and snowmobiling. Our cottage is in District 2 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (www.ofsc.on.ca), with access to OFSC maintained trails. The Twin Mountain Snowmobile Club (www.twinmountainssc.ca) is located on Bass Lake Road, which is just 100 yards from the front door. Trial permits are required and can be purchased at Pirate's Cove. 5 km down Bass Lake is the Five Points area which local ATVers swear by as a great place to get off the road. Waterfront on a wide quiet river just two minutes from north end of Pigeon Lake. During the winter, it freezes solid enough to skate, snowmobile or cross-country ski on. In the summer, a small, sandy-bottom swimming area offers safe swimming and splashing for the kids. A portable swimming dock gives adults access to the channel for a relaxing, refreshing swim. The cottage is fully furnished, with a canoe, sattelite TV and DVD player. Three bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a pull-out couch. Nice, large deck overlooking the water, with a large barbeque for entertaining yourselves or guests. Nice kitchen and a large dining table in the spacious main room. The town of Bobcaygeon is 10 minutes away, a quaint, lovely town with shopping and dining. You can rent our 16' outboard fishing boat for $350/week to hunt trophy muskie, bass, or walleye (or you can fish them from the dock. Our boat is about half of the boat rentals that are available nearby. There is a put-area about 100 yards from the cottage for those who bring their own boat. Bring your own food and linens and relax into the cottage life at Rivendell.


INTERIOR DESCRIPTION
Fully furnished three bedroom cottage. Each bedroom has a double bed, and the couch pulls out for another double bed. Blankets are available, but bring your own linens. The large living room has a wood fireplace and plenty of places to sit and relax as well as a small dining table for breakfast and games. The front room has a large dining table and issues onto the large deck.


EXTERIOR DESCRIPTION
The large deck overlooks the 70' foot waterfront and outdoor fire pit with plenty of wood. The cottage faces across a wide river, just two minutes from the head of Pigeon Lake, a tournament fishing lake with muskie, bass, walleye and perch. There is a dock with a small sandy swimming area. You can rent our 16' fishing boat, and there is a canoe with paddles and life jackets available. There is a boat launch just minutes away if you bring your own boat, or there are several rental places on Pigeon Lake. The cottage is on a Fire Road that connects to Bass Lake Road about 100 yards away. Bass Lake is part of the snowmobile trail for the Twin Mountains Snowmobile Club and accesses all the other trails in Ontario. In the winter, you are in District 2 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (www.ofsc.on.ca), with access to OFSC maintained trails. The Twin Mountain Snowmobile Club (www.twinmountainssc.ca) is located on Bass Lake Road, which is just 100 yards from the front door. ACTIVITIES NEARBY
Bobcaygeon is a quaint town just minutes away, with shopping available. Pigeon Lake is easily accessible, and from there you can reach the rest of the Trent system. Devil's Elbow Ski Resort is about 30 minutes south, as is the larger, but equally lovely town of Peterborough. There are free concerts in Peterborough on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer.
